Day twenty two

Updated: Dec 23, 2025

I had the best night's sleep last night since I have been off work!

I read the letter on my NHS app yesterday that explains all my "Problems" (that's the technical term). Further down the letter there is a list of "Significant past problems". I found one for 1999 that says: "Minor reflux oesophagitis". No one told me at the time and yet this was the first diagnosis of my present condition. The first prescription I had was to deal with oesophagitis. I guess it was healed back then, along with the "Osteopenia - LT hip" that my December 2019 scan showed as being in perfect condition.

There was an amusing entry. It said I was adopted (I was), but the date is: 1900-01-01. Now I have seen my original birth certificate and that is not the right date! I was adopted on the 26th March 1962. I'm curious as to how old they think I am, but at 125 years I think I'm a walking miracle!

It even has the removal of an ingrown toenail in 1992 on there! No mention of the pulmonary embolism that had me in hospital for a week in 2010.

But it's not a bad list. Coeliac Disease is on there, but that was definitely healed a long time ago.

Altogether, I can say that God has been looking after me over the years. I have almost made it to my 64th birthday in pretty good health. I've never had flu; I did a COVID test a few years ago and I was positive for a week, but I only had a cough on the first day.

We like to thank God for healings, but we rarely thank him for keeping us healthy. Maybe we should take a look back over our lives to see how many days we have not been ill and thank him for that!
