Day One of being back at work

There it is! Brain the size of a planet and the best title I can come up with is Day One of being back at work. I left it late in the day to write this one and it's a good job because an email came in that I have to mention, but I'll write things in order.
Friday night I actually did sleep well, surprisingly. But last night I slept from approximately 10:30-1pm. Then I was awake until around 3: 30am, and then on and off with weird dreams until I gave up and got up at 6:30 exhausted. I did my 30 minute drive to the church in Corton and had a good service. My voice was a bit croaky, but I managed. I prayed 3 times in the service, all extemporaneously - and I'm impressed that I spelt that without the aid of the spellchecker. For those who like short words: I prayed without notes - freehand.
I preached OK and had several compliments afterwards. Then I drove home. I missed some of the journey, but i made it back in one piece. My wife didn't sleep at all last night so she didn't go with me.
I am now lying on my bed at 5pm. I may sleep.
But I'm glad I left it this late to write, because just before I came up I read an email from the Methodist Connexional Wellbeing Officer, so not Easter after all.
She wants a conversation with the chair of district and me about the Occupational Health report, in particular to talk about my phased return to work. She has attached a Risk-Assessment report for me to fill in. That will be an experience! And a form for claiming a grant for the counselling she wants me to arrange. 12 sessions of CBT. That's Cognitive, Behavioural Therapy. That won't be fun. I may have mentioned that I am a qualified counsellor. I used to be accredited, but I gave up my accreditation for reasons I may write about if I do this counselling. I am to click on a link and choose a counsellor. She recommends talking to a couple first before choosing one. I know that I will only consider an evangelical Christian counsellor, so that may be difficult.
Anyway, this conversation about my phased return to work - she is off tomorrow and back at work on the 13th March. I have been phasing back to work since last Monday, so in 2 weeks time I will have phased back for 3 weeks. I suppose they did their best!
And so it continues.
