Day 114

I have just read yesterday's blog and I was amused when I read that my eyes were closing as I was writing, because I found at least 4 typos. All corrected now!

I got rid of my razor blades in the early evening yesterday. I was relieved - without pain!

I had a better night's sleep, but still awake before 4am. I lay in until just before 6 because I have a webinar at 5 this evening and a Churches Together meeting at 7. It's a reasonable walk to the Salvation Army, and if I do fall asleep they will have blankets and soup. (If you think that's a typo, they probably have soap as well).

I mentioned yesterday that I was adopted - you probably already knew. Well, when I heard about those DNA tests that people get that tell you where you are from, I was curious. And, for my birthday, my wife bought me a kit. The results were emailed to me this morning. I am:

42% Scottish and Welsh

40.6% English

5.3% Dutch

4.2% Breton

3.4% Danish

3.3% Irish

1.2% Norwegian

So, definitely European. I am surprised at my high Celtic score. Maybe my unknown male parent was Scottish, or Welsh?

I used to have a poster on my bedroom wall that said, "Where you come from is not as important as where you are going". I always imagined that was written by someone who knew where he came from.

So now I have both ends covered. I just need to sort out the middle bit - where am I now?

Anyway, tomorrow morning I have my Occupational Health Zoom meeting and that might give me some ideas. They will make recommendations about what I should be doing.

I'll let you know!
